Skin Analysis

A Woods lamp is used as a diagnostic tool in dermatology by which a UV light is shone onto your face to highlight congested, pigmented and sun damaged areas. We also assess how the skin is aging.

The affected areas show themselves in different shades of fluorescent colours.

This lamp will help analyse and document your skin condition (type).

It is important to know your skin condition (type), if you want to improve your skin health (including helping to prevent skin cancer) and reduce the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.

The UK has the highest incidence of skin cancer in Europe. The Wood's lamp cannot detect skin cancer, but it can certainly help us to explain how you can minimise your risks.

This service is free to our patients to aid the education and motivation towards excellent skin health.

A Skin Analysis not only helps your doctor to recommend the best care for you it also lets you assess how well your recommended treatments are working for you with further analysis. It is a valuable educational and motivational tool as well as a diagnostic tool. The good news is that if we do discover any problems we have the solutions to offer you by a qualified and experienced team of facial aesthetics practitioners.
