Chiropody
Our Director of Chiropody Sarah Davis is able to offer an extensive range of treatments.
Chiropody Treatment
After taking a medical history and carrying out a vascular assessment of the feet this treatment starts with a footbath, nails are cut and filed, hard skin and corns are removed and any other problems with the feet are addressed and cream is applied at the end. A treatment plan is then developed and advice given to maintain good foot health.
Nail Cutting
After an initial consultation patients who only require treatment on their nails will be directed to book this appointment. The treatment starts with a footbath, the nails are cut and filed and cream is applied at the end.
Biomechanical Assessment
If you are experiencing symptoms such as heel, foot, leg, knee or back pain a biomechanical assessment can be carried out to investigate why you have this problem. It involves assessing all the joints of the legs and feet to find out what is working as it should be and what is not aligned properly. A treatment plan will be developed and discussed with the patient and appropriate insoles or orthotics may be prescribed.
Insoles and Orthotics
Insoles are prescription made and used to give gentle control of the feet to help relieve mild symptoms. Orthotics may be semi bespoke or bespoke depending on the nature of the complaint the patient has and are used to give control and support to the malfunctioning foot.
Cryosurgery
This is used for the treatment of longstanding verrucae which have not responded to conservative methods of treatment and involves freezing them with liquid nitrogen.
Nail Surgery
If you have painful ingrown toenails nail surgery can be carried out to remove all or part of the problematic toenail. After exhausting all conservative methods of treatment this will provide a long term solution to the problem.
